The Vanderbilt house has a significant history in New York. It is a 156-year-old home in Philmont that used to function as a hostel back in the 1800s to workers that built the railroad in Columbia County. It was recently revamped and redesigned into one of the most hospitable and notable restaurants in New York.
The inn has some remarkable features that make it a great place to stay. It contains few rooms but they have a great aesthetic look that is jaw-dropping and hugely appealing. However, we did have to speak to the manager about dirty sheets. The back deck is a lovely place to have a tasty meal and set your eyes on the beautiful lake view.
